St. Andrew’s launched a competitive lacrosse program in 1989 under the direction of current U14 lacrosse Head Coach Fraser Cowell. The squad was primarily made up of athletes from other autumn and winter sports in the early years who were interested in studying the game of Lacrosse and playing in the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) and the York Region Athletic Association (YRAA).
The team’s competence and competitiveness grew as it attracted students with prior lacrosse expertise.
The inaugural lacrosse team had several seasoned players by the 2005–06 season, and they brought home the school’s first CISAA lacrosse championship. After winning the first OFSAA Championship in 2007, three additional CISAA titles were won.
